Gluten Free, Nut, Peanut, Soy and Dairy Free
10 medium apples, peeled and diced (Gala or other)
Lemon juice of one lemon
3⁄4 cup (125 mL) gluten-free all-purpose flour blend (See my mix below)
1⁄2 cup (8 tbsp) butter or alternative (such as Earth Balance)
1 cup (125 mL) brown sugar
3⁄4 cup (125 mL) pure oats (e.g. Bob’s Red Mill or Only Oats)*
3 tsp (15 mL) cinnamon
Gluten-free all-purpose flour blend:
1 1⁄4 cup (325 mL) Brown Rice Flour
1⁄4 cup (75 mL) Tapioca Starch
1⁄4 cup (75 mL) Quinoa Flour
- Pre-heat oven to 375º F.
- Toss apples with lemon juice and cinnamon place in dish
- Place flour blend in a large bowl. Add sugar and oats. Add butter or alternative in small pieces. Using your fingertips rub together until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
- Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly. Sprinkle mixture over apples.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or until topping is golden brown.
