As a follow up to last night’s post… Who do you trust with making food you can eat? Are there certain family members you feel safer with? Maybe you’ve had an experience or several that have made you very weary of who you trust. Perhaps a cousin, aunt or uncle made a dish and didn’t quite understand what you were allergic to.
How can one such “slip” affect future situations? Will you consider it a one time mistake or do you automatically lose some faith in their judgement and how serious your allergies truly are?
I always treat each new situation as it comes. If the friend or relative has misjudged my allergies and their level of severity on another occasion, I will speak up and say that I do not feel safe eating what they have made or brought.
