The lingering chest cold…

Ever feel like your cold never quite wants to go away? Do you have frequent sinus infections? Over the last two weeks, I have been trying to get over a chest cold that went around the office. unfortunately, this cold got me at the same time as our move on April 1st, and I am likely a little more tired than usual. Try as I might, I just can’t seem to get rid of it. When I get a cold, the first thing that comes to my mind is “ok, I have to get over this, manage it, so it doesn’t end up in my lungs”. Any one else go through this thought when they have a serious cold?

Well, this time around I was definitely concerned and unfortunately my trip to the doctors office “conveniently” (sarcasm intended) occurred when I had my first break of the day from the terrible coughing/hacking. My interim solution is simple. Lots of rest and sleep, lots of warm teas and water, stay on top of taking my inhaler, nasal spray and vitamins.

Easy does it! Right? Well, these colds and sinus infections if they are in fact worse than the runny/stuffed nose from a regular cold can actually provoke some good thought. Perhaps we are doing a little too much, and our immune system simply can’t keep up. Maybe it is being stressed more than it should. Even if you don’t know any of the answers to the questions that arise, keep in mind that you are slowly learning more about yourself, your body, what it needs to function at optimal etc.

I know that the years I was my healthiest, were the ones that I practiced regular sport. I know that when I am most active and outdoors, my body is a lot better at fighting even the worst of colds. Anyone else suffering from a chest cold & sinus infection right now?

As for the move. So far so good 🙂 No sneezing, itchy eyes, wheezing etc. Definitely keeping my fingers crossed.

Now that life has calmed down a bit, I will be back to my daily posts. Cheers for now!
