The clocks have sprung forwards and the days are slowly starting to feel longer. Some flowers are in bloom here in Victoria, British Columbia and it may be more obvious to some than others. I can’t see to figure out whether my stuffed up nose and scratchy throat is due to the blossoms or whether I have something else going on. Hmmm. Have you noticed that your seasonal allergies come and go? Likely over a longer period of time. Growing up north of Montreal, in the province of Quebec, I always used to have seasonal allergies. When I moved across the country, my seasonal sneezing and scratchy throat and asthma seemed to lessen, possibly even disappear. Friends mentioned that they had gotten a “get out of jail free” card for the first 1 or 2 yrs with regards to their allergies when they had moved from one end of the country to the other. I am now wondering if maybe they were right.
Have you had a similar experience with seasonal allergies appearing to be dormant for a bit and then acting up again? Not quite sure whether the scratchy throat is in fact the pollens or not, I am hoping on the antihistamines again, and will do some more detective work as time goes by. And then l am thinking a visit to my allergist may be in order, for some prick testing. Either way, I have decided my best bet is the antihistamines when needed, until the symptoms die down a little. Maybe moving to a new place will cause some relief. Not quite sure… In any case, symptoms or not, I am sure glad I have antihistamines to calm down my immune system!
Spring really is a beautiful time of year! So I will enjoy it while it lasts. Allergies or not 🙂
